Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning, and disinfection products.

We are currently looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager, Packaging/Indirects, in our Orangeburg, NY, location.

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is an individual contributor role responsible for leading Packaging and Indirect Procurement (strategic & operational) for Nice-Pak. The position will serve to support the successful execution of NP and PDI's overall business strategies while meeting or exceeding the Procurement Organizational performance goals related to total cost of ownership, supply surety, net working capital, and business growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Reporting to the Director of Packaging/3PM/Indirect, develop and implement sourcing strategies (including risk mitigation plans) for packaging component material groups that could include (Rigid Plastics, Flexible Plastics, Cartons, Labels, Industrial Packaging, etc.); also develop and implement sourcing strategies for several indirect spend categories.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and execute and manage supply contracts.
  • Support all relevant business development/maintenance initiatives; lead cross-functional Procurement focused project teams; participate as Procurement lead on business project teams.
  • Manage operational procurement activities (e.g., BPCS management, supply chain collaboration, new product introductions, vendor/item transitions, etc.).
  • Act as Packaging Component subject matter expert for procurement organization; understand and continuously monitor relevant commodity market conditions/trends.
  • Select, develop, and manage supplier base; maintain vendor scorecards.
  • Partner with the Packaging Technology team to drive top-line business growth via supplier-generated/facilitated innovation.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports that track market conditions and progress versus agreed deliverables and target KPIs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strategic and operational procurement
  • Category spend management
  • Contract management
  • Consumer packaging components & supply markets
  • Indirect Category Spend Management
  • Procurement-related financial & quantitative analysis
  • Supply risk mitigation & management

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years strategic sourcing experience in multiple relevant consumer packaging material groups
  • 3+ years procurement management experience
  • Hands-on strategic and operational procurement experience with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, moderately structured consumer goods organization

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent strategic & operational procurement toolbox
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills
  • Strong internal relationship management capability (e.g., Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Marketing)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial & adaptive leadership style and a passion for procurement
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, often complex, projects concurrently and deliver agreed-upon results in a timely fashion
  • Proficiency in procurement modules of BPCS or similar ERP system
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (ie, Excel, PP, Word)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office Environment.
  • 10-20% domestic travel required

SALARY RANGE:

  • $130,000-$145,000
