Your role at Simtra BioPharma Solutions:

The Shipping Supervisor is a member of the Warehousing Leadership Team and reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. This position is responsible for supervising the activities of shipping warehouse coordinators, specialists, and lead. The supervisor is responsible for material deployment, including operations in the shipping warehouse, and as needed: offsite raw material warehouse, and truck driving/transport between all Bloomington locations. This includes ensuring material availability to maintain schedule adherence, material transfer, picking of material, transport of material, inventory accuracy and appropriate management of dock and storage areas starting at receipt until final product shipment.

Activities include conformance to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), supporting warehouse cGMP compliance, working on powered industrial vehicles (PIV's), and driving, loading/unloading Work-in-Process (WIP). Finished Goods (FG), and Raw Materials (RM) between the Baxter locations.

The Supervisor will cross train in all Supply Chain warehouses. This is full time, 5 days a week/40 hours position. Weekend hours could be required based on business need.

What you'll do:

  • Interview, hire, coach, and develops staff. Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports. Assists in setting performance objectives and development plans.
  • Provide guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations over multiple shifts.
  • Be a change ambassador for your team
  • Supervise the day-to-day warehouse operations, scheduling and staffing, material management, compliance, training, and auditing activities to support Manufacturing needs.
  • Oversee and Champion Safety, 6S, EMS and other programs as requested by Sr. Management.
  • Ensure warehouse is maintained per requirements: cGMP, OSHA, Baxter CQP/SOP, EHS
  • Client liaison for new and existing procedures.
  • Serialization Subject Matter Expert for shipping activities.
  • Develop and implement new client shipping procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Subject matter expert in shipping procedures, specifically hazardous material shipping requirements.
  • Update and maintain shipping procedures and SOPs
  • Contact for internal departments regarding shipping issues, questions and requests
  • Shipping of hazardous materials both domestic and international
  • Setup / maintain material and carrier export codes
  • Creates, maintains, and updates department shipping methods.
  • Can perform all aspects of warehouse activities (cycle counting, PIT operation, chamber alarm response, chart management, 6S)
  • Acts as main shipper for specific assigned clients.
  • Trained to complete CCMs, accepts/own CAPAs, and regulatory or client observation.
  • SME/contact for implementation of new system infrastructure (i.e. computer systems).
  • Drives continuous improvement of all warehouse activities.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meets warehouse financial standards by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Trained in authoring/assisting/approving reports regarding significant issues (e.g., NCR). Trained to investigate and author Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Represent the company/lead during audits and inspections. Lead client tours/audits.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Trained as driver and warehouse specialist to support resource gaps as needed.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures inventory accuracy through performance and reconciliation of physical/cycle counts.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Work with Warehouse Group Leads to deploy resources as needed on weekdays.

What you'll bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years of warehouse/logistics or manufacturing experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience required.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain Hazardous Materials certification. DOT and IATA
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE / Dynamics 365, BPLM, OneSource, Track wise, etc.)
  • Weekend/Overtime as required.
  • Must be able to obtain a for hire endorsement.

Physical / Safety Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, and lift to support packing and warehouse activities.
  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.
  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.
  • Position may require sitting or standing for long hours.
  • Position may require use of PIT equipment for long hours.
  • Must be able to work in various temps up to -65 to -85 Celsius.
